Douro DOC

Apple Blossom, Honeydew, Grapefruit

This field blend of white grapes is made to emulate the typical style of field blends that are common to the Douro region of northern Portugal, but is also intended to highlight the potential of regional grape varietals that are otherwise rare and actively being preserved by Jorge Lourenço at his winery. This is exemplified by the fact that the largest portion of the cépage is made up of Rabigato, a rare white varietal which is almost exclusively found in the Douro Superior and Trás-os-Montes region of the mountainous interior of the country. The wine exhibits lively and crisp acidity and a very subtle florality that piques the interest of the drinker. Elements of tropical fruit and grapefruit persist in the palate with a unifying vein of intense acidity that makes the wine perfect as an aperitif.
